For 2011, changes to the Volkswagen Eos convertible are trim items. A new eight-speaker RCD 310 stereo is standard; the Bluetooth system has more features; and Sirius satellite radio is now optional or standard.
Based on the fifth-generation Golf (Rabbit) platform, the Eos uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder direct-injection engine, with six-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed automatic Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). Its five-piece roof includes a heated rear window, and a panoramic glass sunroof that can be tilted or slid open when the roof is up. The panels separate and store themselves in the trunk in about 25 seconds.
Features on the Comfortline include 17-inch alloy wheels, manual climate control, halogen projector headlamps, fog lights, LED taillights, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, park distance control, power panoramic sunroof, automatic folding hardtop, rollover protection system, wind blocker, variable intermittent wipers, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft alarm, cruise control, front and rear floor mats, locking illuminated glovebox, keyless entry, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, combined side curtain and thorax airbags, eight-way manual heated “leatherette” seats, easy-entry rear access, rear pass-through, garage door opener, three-spoke tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped wheel with manual shift paddles, and auto up/down windows.
The Highline adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, sport suspension, adaptive automatic bi-xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, digital compass, multifunction trip computer, footwell lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror, six-CD/MP3 stereo, Sirius satellite radio, iPod interface, 12-way power driver’s seat with power rear access easy-entry, Vienna Leather heated seats, multifunction steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and ski bag.
