After a year of going unchanged, the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe receives a thorough redesign, improved engines, and an eight-speed automatic transmission replaces the old five- and six-speed units.

The Genesis Coupe is available with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder or naturally-aspirated 3.8-litre V6. A six-speed manual transmission is the default on all models with an eight-speed automatic as an option on all trims but the 2.0T R-Spec.

Features on the 2.0T include 18-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, air conditioning with automatic temperature control, outside temperature display, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio, satellite radio, iPod/USB/auxiliary input jacks, Bluetooth Hands-Free phone system, body colour dual power-heated mirrors, centre console with armrest, chrome-tipped dual exhaust, black cloth, electronic stability control, traction control system, fog lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, supervision cluster, power door locks with remote keyless entry and alarm, power windows with driver/front passenger express down and auto-up with pinch protection.

2.0T R-Spec adds 19-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, front strut tower brakes, sport calibrated suspension, high-performance summer tires, black leather bolster with black cloth inserts and red stitching high performance seats, Torsen limited-slip differential, rear spoiler, and R-Spec package.

2.0T Premium adds (to 2.0T) 10-speaker Infinity AM/FM/MP3 audio, satellite radio, heated front seats, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, power driver’s seat, sunroof, and security alarm.

3.8GT adds aluminum foot pedals, engine cover, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink and compass, metal-grain interior accents, illuminated driver door scuff plate, HID headlights, acoustic film glass, leather seating, leather-wrapped parking brake, and passenger sunvisor extension.
