Last of the old Volvos heads to the show stand

Volvo is gearing up for a resurgence with their new Scalable Product Architecture and a plethora new models derived from Volvo’s significant investment in leading-edge powertrains.

But, for Los Angeles, Volvo will be showing up with one of the last current-generation products, a derivative of the V60 Sportswagon.

Seen below is the V60 Cross Country, Sweden’s version of the Subaru Outback for people with more money to spend. It sits between the V60 wagon and XC60 sport utility on the “jacked up car” scale.

“We are delighted to add the third true Cross Country model to our product portfolio. The successful combination of dynamic styling and rugged capability places the V60 Cross Country in a class of its own,” said Lex Kerssemakers, Senior Vice President Product Strategy and Vehicle Line Management at Volvo Cars.

Compared to the V60 Sportwagon, the new model has 65 mm of extra ground clearance, plastic body cladding, Cross Country 18-inch wheels, and high-profile tires. The V60 Cross Country will be powered by Volvo’s 250 hp five-cylinder engine and is expected to achieve 10.2L/100km on the combined 5-cycle test.
