Scion will market their first sedan since being introduced to North America
Toyota’s youth brand is transforming their lineup with the introduction of a new sedan due to bow at the New York International Auto Show in April. Along with the new four-door model will be a production version of the Scion iM shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show last November.
It’s no secret Scion is between a rock and a hard place as younger buyers are saddled with increasing amounts of debt and Scion itself has a lack of compelling products to bring in customers. The newest model from Scion, the FR-S, also has limited appeal due to its lack of utility.
The new sedan will likely be based on the new Mexican-built Mazda2, itself likely only available as a hatchback model in North America.
The production Scion iM, based on the European market Toyota Auris, is scheduled to go on sale late this year as a 2016 model.
