Earlier this month, Mercedes-AMG released a short – I mean, really short – teaser of an upcoming AMG. The short clip, shot at the famed Hockenheim GP track, caused me to speculate that the mystery monster was the upcoming new AMG GT. Turns out I was wrong. After releasing a few teaser images and another teaser video, Mercedes-AMG confirmed it was the new C63 Coupe.
I don’t feel too badly about getting the model incorrect. I speculated based upon the sound the of the exhaust note, which will most likely be the same engine in both cars – the fantastic, monstrous, refined 4.0L twin-turbo V8 – a sound that sends chills down my spine. Unfortunately, I also speculated due to a comment on the video from a supposed “insider” at M-B – I should have known better than to take anything I read in the comments section of a YouTube video seriously.
While happy to release images and videos of the heavily camouflaged prototype, Mercedes have not yet released any more information.
