“Concept car … very, very, very, very close to the next Q60”

The folks at Motor Trend had a chance to corner executive design director for Infiniti, Alfonso Albaisa, at the Los Angeles Auto Show and asked him a few questions. From the interview came tidbits about the next production Infiniti model to be shown at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in January.

“On January 13, you’re going to see a concept car that’s very, very, very, very close to the next Q60,” said Albaisa.

Rumours swirled the design of the Q60 was rejected multiple times by former brand head Johan de Nysschen, but Albaisa said that’s far from the truth.

“When you have a transparent relationship with the big boss, nothing gets sent back because he’s never too far from the process — that was the benefit of working with him.”

Due to the amount of time since the launch of the Q50 sedan (above), expect something a little different than a two-door version of the sedan for the Q60. We will know for sure in January.
