R8 Competition and A7 h-tron quattro also make appearances in Los Angeles

Audi, with the first press conference of the day at the Los Angeles Auto Show, had a lot of news that’ll have lasting implications.

What you see at the top is the Audi prologue concept — previously thought to be called the A9 Concept — showing where the German brand is going in the design department under the leadership of Marc Lichte.

Appointed in February of this year, this is the first concept penned under Lichte and will foreshadow the next-generation A6, A7, and A8 models.

Also on display, Audi brought the new hyper-fast R8 Competition and, on the other end of the spectrum, the all-new A7 h-tron quattro featuring a fourth-generation hydrogen fuel cell.

We will have a full preview of the Audi prologue concept in the coming days.
