Edge Sport, powered by new 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6, rings in at $45,099

The new Ford Edge, the third-generation lifestyle utility built in Oakville, will get a $1,000 price bump when it goes on sale later this year.

Base SE front-wheel drive trimmed Edges will get a base price of $31,999 in Canada, powered by a new 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. A naturally-aspirated 3.5-litre V6 engine and all-wheel drive will be options available on SEL and above trims.

Power from the new twin-scroll 2.0-litre EcoBoost mill will be routed through a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission to the front or all four 18-inch wheels.

The Edge Sport — with a starting price of $45,099 — drops the naturally aspirated 3.7-litre V6 in favour of a more powerful 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6, the same engine that will debut in the 2015 Ford F-150.

Sport models get all-wheel drive and a sport-tuned suspension as standard.
