I think I'd rather have one with one of the small (1.5l or 2.0)  Ecoboosts.
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.

Wing, the rebate is 4,000$ in Quebec. The 8k$ only applies to BEVs or bigger-batteried PHEVs like the Volt. I had one for a week in April, but had to drive to ... Ottawa with it, so my weekly avg was 5.5 l/100km, first few commuting days at 2.8, although we were still getting snow at the time, and my tester was on snow tires.

I have a 2015 CMax Hybrid (not the Energy). Shows right now 6.5 L/100KM since we bought it, last October. Have about 6000 KMs on the clock. Great commuter vehicle; 25 l of gas gets me roughly 450 KM in range. A full tank is over 850 KMs. Last Monday Wife and I went for a short drive and it reported to me I averaged 3.5 L/100 KM. Have gone 95 KM/Hr on the battery alone, periodically.

Goes pretty good too when passing. Just impressed one of our Engineers here an hour ago by showing off the park assist feature.  Don't know why they don't sell more of these.

I have seen maybe two or three of these on the streets. Not a bad looking little van.
Lighten up Francis.....

Thanks for the clarification of the QC rebate, I was told by a fellow journalist in QC that it was $8000.  I'll modify.

My tester is also on winter tires.... Michelin x-ice, probably would get better mileage if it was on the OEM tires.

You wouldn't be the first person to do that!

Ask Ford to change them over for you?

I recall Honda offering to put winters on the Fit we had found the subcompact comparison same day...

Not worth my time.   It should have been swapped a month ago.   They will do it when it returns to Montreal

looks exactly the same as previous/existing model.   is the only difference the fact that it's a plug-in capable?

or is the infotainment updated as well?

Agreed -- this is pretty much my take as well. How much is cargo space affected by battery placement?

I've seen a few of these in my travels the past couple of years both here and abroad on our annual trips to the UK. More often than not, Canadian owners/drivers are retired and semi-retired types who like to put some miles on the clock. UK owners are all types including families.

I can see this being a possible option when we go shopping in a couple of years ....... I wonder how it will fair against the current crop of CUVs we would consider, which include, in no order of importance the Renegade, HR-V, and Crosstrek. This doesn't have AWD, but if it performs well in our Canadian winters, then perhaps that's moot.

and within less than a year this vehicle will have another director competitor with the all new dedicated hybrid the Kia Niro.  No robbed cargo area for this one.

The Niro is pictured is just a hybrid, not a plug-in. The regular C-Max Hybrid has a pretty useable trunk.
