Show n shine dudes,  show n shine.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Wasn't it you that said Nissan was a 2nd tier product?  ???

They are, but there are some bright spots.  :)

I'm shocked.

I do like the interior though, and the upgraded seats are very comfortable.

Are you always going to run 87 octane?

Yep.  It got filled with 87 because that is all the Nissan store has access to and it will remain that way.  Goes like heck regardless.  But since the Camry Hybrid got 1/3 better gas mileage on a bad day, I'm not in for an additional 15% for 91.  However, winter is easier on knock than summer so never say never I suppose.

It looks good in that colour.

There are only for choices:  Black which is a non starter as I already have a black one in the garage and you need to be a dedicated washer for that colour.  White .... too much black on the car as it is.  Contrast is just too much IMO.  Bright medium blue and metallic gun metal grey remain.  The grey is an easier daily.

Every review over the years shows the Maxima, Impala, Passat, and Avalon as competitors.  Sometimes Lacrosse, and Volvo S60

The 2016 bears little in common to the previous versions.  The CVT is all new and it's nothing like the past.  IMO, the only direct competitor is the V6 FWD TLX.     Impala, Avalon and Lacrosse are similar.

Congrats, it's a very nice car.

I am a little surprised though...I always sorta figured you were with me in the "I'd rather put up with an ancient but maintained car than pay out monthly for a depreciating asset" camp.

You might be getting me confused with another member.  :)   The wife has been in new cars or used dealer demos for quite some time.  At your age you are, rightly so, saving money.  At my age I am spending money.  I get a sizeable discount on any Toyota or Nissan and another brand which I cannot bring myself to reveal.  This Maxima is costing me $435 mth.  Interest is .9% .  When the stock tires plus the winters are almost worn out I will get rid of it.  I'm thinking April/2018 which would be 3 years, 4 months into a 4 year lease.  It will cost be X oil changes.  I repaired cars for longer than you have been living.  ;)  I have other crap to fix instead.  I sold my 944 S2 because I got tired of pissing around with this and that.  So I bought the 2015 Mustang.  No leaks, no BS.  It's an age thing.  :)  But I do have enormous respect for DIYers.

The new maxima looks great, congrats!

Thanks Hammy.    The downside ... and there is always one LURKING  :)  is that I cannot fit 17 inch wheels/snows on the sucker.  18 inch snows and wheels are BRUTAL $$$ particularly 245s.   :'(

Good answer. I am just ribbing you anyway.
I cheat a little bit anyway...As an auto writer I keep myself in press cars 80-90% of the time, keeps a lot of abuse off my old junk.
