Show and Farewell
« on: April 16, 2015, 06:17:45 pm »
This girlfriend lasted 8 years.  1990 944S2  Gone today and a very satisfying sale.

Replacement is scheduled for 2nd week of May.  Only common denominator is the colour.  :rofl2:

Nice looking Porsche. So the new Corolla comes in that color too, not too common.

Obviously V6 Mustang.

Nice 944. My dad had one for a while, but sadly I never got a chance to drive it. I did have a ride-along in a 944 Turbo at a track day once and thought it was a neat car. I guess prices are climbing, but I always think of these as being under appreciated and a solid value.

Just time for something different?

FR-S is my 2nd guess.

Can get cost on one of those, but honestly, not enough juice, seat doesn't go back far enough.  I think those units are done.

Can get cost on one of those,

That's why I guessed it.  You can get cost on a GT-R too.  And a 370Z.   ;D

Obviously V6 Mustang.

Just time for something different?

OK, first credit goes to pi314 as I think he has noticed my posts regarding the 2015 Mustang.

V6 is correct.  For those that do not get the reference; what was known in the business years ago as the Secretary Special was no less than the Mustang V6 automatic ..... just a horrible, horrible car.  :)

EDIT:  Nice call on the vert Arthur.  Being 40 years or so, but I've had 4 previously and thought I go out the same way.

Reasoning behind choice  :P

Number 1:  COST

Number 2:  no longer like repairing speciality vehicles particularly being in Canada.  USA is a different ball game entirely where you're only a PayPal click away from getting used/new parts from fellow Forum members/Sponsors within the week.  For the last 15 years I'd buy stuff from ppl and then it gets sent to Kentucky and then my sister brings it up. I've had it with that.

So what do you buy NEW if you want a VERT and put 5000 km on a year and doesn't cost $50K?

Mazda MX5?   Driven a 2006.  Can't fit so easy to cross off the list and too small for trips.

What else is left  ???

....  2015 Mustang V6 Vert, manual tranny, 3:55 LSD (clutch type), 051A option package which is nicely done (power driver's seat and 18 inch blackish/grey colour with 235s).  Spoiler Delete.

Ford did a nice job on this Vert.  Completely new insulated fabric roof, sits 6 inches lower when retracted, single latch, twice as fast being electrical.

Thank god it's not assembled in Mexico.  Actually Dearborn, MI.
