Don't worry about the likes of Artic. There are a few here like him who like to harass anyone who doesn't toe their very distorted line. I think they were the kids in grade school who knocked others down to steal their dessert from the lunch bag. Now he's just a used car salesman so he continues to steal but in a different manner. How he has never been turfed from here for his track record remains one of the great mysteries of this place. Maybe he has blackmail pics of some of the mods.

So Greg, you and your new alternate, the Cybunny (http://www.neopets.com/~Chamadarla), are taking another run at it.  What's this, your 4th kick at the can?  :)

Steve, don't feed the troll, you should know better. His banning can't be too far off.
I'd never join a group that would have me as a member.

But apparently it is perfectly OK to accuse me of being 4 different people including one new member who just joined up? Really??? Do you not see the problem here?
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.

So, getting back to actually discussing cars....is the new Impala a big step forward for GM or just more discounted fodder for rental car fleets?
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Fleets have everything nowadays...Camry, Altima, Sonata, Fusions therefore...moot.  Get over it people.

The Impala looks great.

I refer you to the first reponse post of this thread.  :)

It's a back slide.  You have the Impala and Malibu battling for the same GM customer.  No conquest vehicle here.  You can't steal market share from yourself.

Isn't that the age old GM problem.....fighting for customers with themselves?

In all fairness though.....it looks like a lot more car than all of those rental Impalas I used to drive when the SRX was in the shop. Maybe it's a case of the Impala has gotten better but so has the competition?

No way, no difference here than Altima/Maxima, Camry/Avalon, Sonata/Azera etc etc...all you're doing is spewing your GM hate...sick man sick.

Sort of agree with the Altima/Maxima....the others seem a little more distinct.

Gm has been doing this for years, the Grand Prix/Regal....that were all the same basic car with a little different look. It seems GM is only trying to steal sales from its own brands. THis is not a bad looking car, I just think the driving experience will be the basic GM rental fleet car. Too bad, I like that Bonneville they had with the V8 stuffed in the nose  ;D
Lighten up Francis.....

Disagree here, come on Grand Prix/Regal was the same platform, same as Cobalt/G5 today.  Regal and Lesabre or Grand Prix/Parisienne then were very different cars.  Should we argue  Camry/Avalon/ES300?

Theres no argument to me on that....those were just cars for people that wanted their neighbors to think they were rich so they bought a gussied up Camry. Regal/Grand Prix were the same car. The Parisienne and Grand Prix were totally different cars, the Grand was a G body car, two doors, different platform. The Parisienne was a full size 4 door/Wagon....that was the 70's and 80's, so long time ago.

Ok, by your rationale here then, Impala and Malibu are 2 different beast, all good I agree.

We have one of the current gen ones in our work fleet, it seems pleasant enough except for seats that hurt my back on long trips.

This looks like a nice upgrade. The big problem GM has from what I understand is not with this car, but that they chopped too much out of the Malibu wheelbase to differentiate it from this one.

This means the Impala is available with all the latest electronic aids like adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone warning, and rear cross traffic alert. As well, the Impala comes standard with 10 airbags.

Amazing how quickly this stuff has percolated down into everyday vehicles.
