Topic: check engine light keeps turning on even after MAF sensor cleaning

Hey all, I keep pulling the following codes from my OBD2 reader whenever the check engine light turns on: P0101, P010B

It's a 2012 Infiniti FX35 with 143.5k km.

This is usually remedied by MAF sensor cleaner spray, but the check engine light keeps turning on sometime after it turns off. I had one episode in 2021, one in 2022, and five since July of this year! with the last 3 happening over a span of just over a month.

I thought the increased frequency could be because I was using old original spray from 2021 so I bought a new spray but the check engine light still turned on again after a few days.

Is it time to change the MAF sensors? Or is there something else going on?

One thing that's different with these latest episodes, starting with the October episode, is that around the time the check engine light turns on, I get a strong hesitation in acceleration particularly in 3rd and higher gears.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Mar. 2/21 (mileage at 123k km): malfunction indicator light (MIL) turned on
May 2021 (124k): MIL turned off after using MAF sensor cleaner spray

May 2022 (130.4k): MIL turned on > used MAF sensor cleaner spray same day and again in a week's time
Jun 2022 (131k): MIL turned off

July 2023 (140k): MIL turned on > used MAF sensor cleaner spray next day
Aug 2023 (140.5k): MIL turned off

Oct. 2023 (142k): MIL turned on while on road trip > used MAF sensor cleaner spray when returned from trip a few days later
Nov. 8/23 (143k): MIL turned off

Nov. 21/23 (143.3k): MIL turned on; bought new MAF spray and used it
Nov. 24/23 (143.4k): MIL turned off

Nov. 27/23 (143.5k): MIL turned on

Expensive. I'd probably try a Hitachi MAF0031 off rockauto or amazon. If that has the same connectors.

How can I be sure it's not the MAF sensors. Could anything else be causing the codes (or in addition to the MAF sensors?)

OEM from Nissan is in the hundreds and Hitachi is about $80 CAD. Delphi is also suppose to be OEM spec.
