Learned I will have to move an upright piano into the house on the weekend. Luckily no big stairs, but a few steps and some corners. Any tips?

Hire professional piano movers.  We did that with my piano.

If you want to DIY, you'll need ramps, dollies, straps and some strong guys and gals.

This is the best idea....much like pool tables, best left to the pros.

You've got a winch on your Jeep don't you?   ;D

This is my wife's office.  A couple months ago, I gave the room a fresh coat of paint and swapped out a crappy old aluminum blind with the one you see here.

There were also some curtains.  Had a debate with my wife at that time - do we put the curtains back up or not.

Me:  Let's leave 'em up.  Makes the room look nice **
Her:  No.  Don't want them.  Yes, I am sure.  YES I'M SURE.
Me:  Of course my dear. I love you.

** (OK.  I admit a big part of me wanting to leave them up was because I didn't feel like patching the holes, sanding, painting, etc..)

Remove curtain rod & brackets.  Patch, sand, patch, sand, prime, paint, paint.
Looks great!  Some of my finest work.  No evidence there was ever holes there.  I'm happy.  My wife is happy.  Done!

Now,  move to today.  Have a look what is beside the window frame on left side.  Mrs. Weels came home with that on the weekend.

Me:  What's this curtain rod?  Did you buy it?  Oh, I see curtains there too...
Her:  Yeah! Saw it in the store and liked it. Thought the room would look better with these curtains up.
Me:   :-X
Me:  Of course dear.  I love you.

Ah wives, they drive you to drink.  If not them, the kids.   :rofl2:   Enjoy your drink!   Have to hit the LCBO soon myself.  Almost out of Bacardi 8.

That window looks perfect with just the blinds. Tell your wife to take the curtains back. Tell her I said so.

My wife bought some new shears a few days ago to replace the curtains we took down at the beginning of summer.  I liked the windows better without anything.

Oop - my bad... these are sheers so i've learned.
And... were made by mother-in-law, so final sale, no refund no exchange.

My wife was strangely unmoved by this suggestion... but I will continue to bust her chops over the next many days   ;D

Curtains always soften the look of a room by hiding the hard corners of a window, and can add a warm accent touch with an extra colour or lovely pattern.  I had no curtains in my old place, but do have them in my new digs, as the windows are smaller and less expensive to dress up.  They look nice, and give a cozy feel to the room.   :)

^^ sure, but they already made the decision to go with blinds. Having both is like wearing a belt and suspenders, IMO.

And it looks like they spent some money on quality blinds. Looks crisp, clean and uncluttered: be a shame to ruin it now with drapes. :)

Sheer curtains can be destroyed in the washing machine if you don't know what you're doing.  ;)

Finally finished my driveway expansion!  Well, almost.  Just a few little things to take care of.  I made a bit of a mess of the grass with the excavator, and the hole left where the tree used to be.  Knowing I was doing this, I pretty much ignored my front lawn this summer.  (breathe Snowman, it's ok  ;)  )  I'll do all the lawn repair in the spring with a little regrading and new sod.  Sure is nice to be rid of that crappy front step the builder left there.

Here's the before & after.  I have plenty of room for 2 side by side now.  I guess I have a little more to shovel this winter tho...

Nice! It's convenient how your curb/sidewalk is setup, allows you for any shape driveway... here they limit the width of your allowed curb cut, and the number, which meant my mom couldn't set up a U shaped driveway like she would have liked for the front of her house.

It is in the garage. Infact, I have to get rid of a pile of stone so I can get it out again. :(
