Garrison Brewing Co, Halifax, NS not sold in Ontario

They ship pallets of the Garrison stuff to the LCBO. Maybe it is all for special/private orders, dunno.

The beer snobs I know tend to diss Garrison but I suspect it has a lot to do with the personality of the owner.

Those same beer snobs tend to favor Propeller products made in Halifax along with the extreme concoctions brewed up by Greg Nash at the Hart & Thistle brewpub.

When I was there on Fathers Day for a couple hours they said they where not shipping to Ontario since they where not on the LCBO list

I guess I am wrong
Sept 29, 2010
Garrison Imperial I.P.A. Hits Ontario
Via "The Bar Towel" - "As part of the LCBO’s Autumn Ales beer release, we are thrilled to say that Garrison Imperial I.P.A. from Halifax, Nova Scotia is rolling out to the shelves for purchase.  The Bar Towel, through our partner Cecktor Limited, is the agent for Garrison in Ontario and has been documenting the experience of importing through the Free Our Beer project.  You can find which LCBO stores currently have stock here. "

Check here for LCBO Purchase Locations

But not around Cobourg, our LCBO is small then a corner store

Why don't we start a beer exchange?  I did a few beer exchanges with some people out west.  Put up a list of what you want and trade a beer that they want.

I'd be up for that.   :)

* Name of Beer - Black Bear Ale
* Type of Beer - Ale
* Alcohol % - 5%
* Price of beer - $2.05 per bottle
* How it was served (bottle, tap, can) - bottle
* Brewery - Kamloops Brewery
* Country of Origin - Canada
* Your rating out of 5 stars - 4.9

No one seems to sell this dark, wonderfully smooth beer here anymore, but it was great while it lasted. It had a very robust hoppy flavour with a slightly sweet aftertaste. The aroma was fruity with a hint of blackberry. I really miss this stuff. :'(

* Name of Beer - Rickard's Red
* Type of Beer - beer
* Alcohol % - 5.2%
* Price of beer - $2.15 per bottle
* How it was served (bottle, tap, can) - bottle
* Brewery - Was Rickard's, now Molson (I know, I know..)
* Country of Origin - Canada
* Your rating out of 5 stars - 4.4

This beer is a lot better than I thought it would be. It's very refreshing with a nice hoppy/malty flavour and a slight hint of caramel in the aroma.
