Was listening to Eddie Trunk's show and he was talking about this company that does re-releases of out of print stuff or vinyl and releases them to CDs.

Definitely old school, but I totally dig it and it's a great website with tons of titles.

Living Colour - Inner City Blues (Marvin Gaye cover) from their 2017 album "Shade".

Living Colour has been starting their recent shows with MC5's "Kick Out The Jams".  This video is from a few nights ago in Chicago.

I get more excited for next Wednesday's show as the minutes go by.  Kick out the jams, MFers!

Took my kid to her first arena concert yesterday - City and Colour, and Nathaniel Rateliff.

She wasn't prepared for the lights, the colours, the sound, the overall 'bigness' of it all.  When the opening act came on (a sweet little Canadian rocker called Ruby Waters), she had a look of amazement on her face, and said 'I LOVE THIS'.  Melted my heart.

City and Colour was amazing.

What a show!  One of the best concerts I have ever seen.

The band started off with a cover of MC5's "Kick Out The Jams" and continued to kick ass for a full 100 minutes. The level of musicianship was top notch.  I mentioned that guitarist, Vernon Reid, made Rolling Stone magazine's Top 250 Greatest Guitarists of All-Time.  It's easy to dismiss lists like that, but seeing Vernon live, you know you're seeing someone extraordinary.

Pictures (and a one-minute video of the opening song) from the 2,000 km roundtrip are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/brent1210/albums/72177720314884245/

This happened on the way home.

Sad news.  Karl Wallinger, songwriter and frontman of World Party, dies at 66.  Whenever I make a Top 10 list of my all-time favourite songs, "Ship of Fools" is on it.  Few songs have articulated this planet's downward spiral as effectively as this one, imho.
