After a year where both the 1.8 TSI and 2.5L five-cylinder were both available, the Beetle Convertible drops the five-cylinder completely for 2015 along with its top Highline trim. Other changes include new Technology (Comfortline and Sportline) and Appearance (Comfortline) packages along with the addition of a new base model Trendline+ trim.

The Beetle Convertible is available with two different engines and three possible transmission options:
– 1.8 TSI turbocharged gas 4-cylinder engine producing 170 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque mated to a 6-speed automatic with Tiptronic, available in Trendline+ and Comfortline trims.
– 2.0 TSI turbocharged gas 4-cylinder engine producing 210 hp and 207 lb-ft mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DSG automatic, only available in Sportline trim.
In Trendline+, features include 16inch Propeller wheels, 50/50 split-folding rear seats, 8-way manually adjustable front comfort seats including manual lumbar support, alarm pre-wire, ambient lighting (4 positions/3 colours), Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity with voice activation, cruise control, dashboard colour-coded to exterior paint with additional glove box, door panels in leatherette, airbags (front, front seat), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), front and rear disc brakes, heated front seats and washer nozzles, Hill Hold Assist, leatherette seating surfaces, air conditioning, multilink rear suspension, power heated body-coloured exterior mirrors with LED turn signals, power soft-top featuring remote operation with keyfob, RCD 310 AM/FM radio with single CD player and 8 speakers, rear seat pockets, rear spoiler, tonneau cover in beige or black, trip computer, and wind blocker.
Comfortline trim adds 17-inch Rotor alloy wheels, alarm system, automatic headlights with “coming home” feature, chrome rings around the cluster/radio/navigation system/air vents, chrome tips on window switches, exterior chrome package, front fog lights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, KESSY keyless access with push-button start, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel/shift knob/handbrake lever, Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod connectivity, multifunction trip computer, Premium 8 radio (6-disc CD changer, touchscreen and 8 speakers), rain-sensing wipers, and satellite radio.
Technology Package adds Blind Spot Detection, Fender Premium Audio System (400-watt digital sound package w/ 8 speakers plus subwoofer), and RNS 315 navigation system (single CD player
and touchscreen).
Appearance Package adds Bi-Xenon headlights with LED signature Daytime Running Lights, Climatronic dual-zone electronic climate control, LED rear licence plate illumination, sport seats, and Vienna leather seats (Titan Black or Nutria Beige).
Sportline trim adds 18-inch Twister alloy wheels, alloy sport pedals, Climatronic dual-zone electronic climate control, dashboard in carbon fibre look, dashboard-mounted auxiliary gauges, dual exhaust, exterior mirrors in black, front chrome grille, leather seating surfaces, paddle shifters (with automatic transmission), red brake calipers, rocker extensions in black with chrome strip, sound generator, sport seats, and sport suspension.
