-more powerful Turbo S model
Porsche’s Cayenne gains a new top model in the Turbo S, which adds 50 hp to the power output of the standard Turbo model for a total of 550 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque; the Turbo carries on with 500 hp and 516 lb-ft from the same turbocharged 4.8L V8 engine.
The rest of the Cayenne line carries over, too. It starts off with the base model (3.6L V6; 300 hp/295 lb-ft) and moves up through diesel (3.0L turbodiesel V6; 240 hp/406 lb-ft), S Hybrid (3.0L supercharged V6 plus electric motor; 380 hp/428 lb-ft), S (4.8L V8; 400 hp/369 lb-ft), and GTS (4.8L V8; 420 hp/380 lb-ft).
Base models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but optional there and standard elsewhere is an eight-speed automatic, and all Cayennes are all-wheel driven.
Standard kit in base models includes an electric parking brake, 18-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, driver’s seat memory, power windows, electric-adjustable and heated side mirrors, cruise control, power tailgate with independently-opening window, seven-inch touchscreen stereo, auxiliary input, Bluetooth, instrument cluster with 4.8-inch TFT display, LED daytime running lights and taillights, cargo area cover, and tire pressure monitoring.
Diesel, S Hybrid and S models are similarly equipped.
GTS trim comes with upgraded brakes, unique hood and fascia trim, sport exhaust, steerable headlights, 20-inch wheels, power steering plus, height-adjustable and self-levelling air suspension, Alcantara headliner, sport seats in partial leather/Alcantara, brushed aluminum trim, stainless steel pedals, sport steering wheel, bi-Xenon headlights, and driver’s knee airbag.
Turbo models get red brake calipers, navigation, BOSE stereo, universal audio interface with USB input, and satellite radio.
Turbo S includes Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Porsche torque vectoring plus and power steering plus, all of which are optional in standard Turbo trim. Turbo S also gets 21-inch wheels, gloss black exterior trim and body-coloured wheel arch extensions and rear spoiler edge.
