Changes to the SL-Class are mostly in trim for 2015. The only mechanical update is more power for the SL 63 AMG model, whose 5.5L biturbo V8 gains 47 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque, for totals of 577 hp and 664 lb-ft.

Otherwise, the song remains the same: the SL 550 uses a 4.6L bitburbo V8 good for 429 hp and 516 lb-ft, and the SL 65 AMG carries on with its 6.0L biturbo V12, which is capable of 621 hp and 737 lb-ft.

All three versions are rear-wheel drive, and all share a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features in the SL 550 include an AMG styling package, multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles, 19-inch wheels, direct-select centre console shift lever, analog clock, leather upholstery, parktronic with active park assist, cross-drilled front brake rotors, active body control, panoramic vario-roof, Comand online nagivation with MB apps, satellite radio, automatic climate control, adaptive highbeam assist, magic vision control, attention assist, pre-safe, 600-watt/14-speaker stereo, and ambient lighting.

SL 63 AMG models add AMG-specific exterior trim pieces, including a twin-blade grille, lip spoiler, and high-performance brakes with painted calipers. Other improvements include upgraded active body control, AMG instrument cluster with race timer, Nappa leather steering wheel with flattened top and bottom, e-select gear lever, multicontour seats, carbon fibre trim, IWC analog clock, illuminated stainless steel doorsills, velour floor mats, chrome key, and a ‘dinamica’ roofliner.

At the top of the range sits the SL 65 AMG, which comes with distronic plus, performance media, magic sky control, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, Nappa/Alcantara steering wheel, drive-dynamic multicontour sport seats, chrome illuminated doorsills, Nappa leather roofliner, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo.
