NEW FOR 2014:
-Limited-production Black Series coupe added
Mercedes-Benz’ flagship performance model gains a third, limited-production version for 2014, called the SLS AMG GT Black Series. Key among its improvements is a more powerful 6.2L engine, tuned for 622 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. The standard car uses what is essentially the same motor, but good for 583 hp and a bit more torque, at 479 lb-ft. All SLS AMG GT models share a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
As before, the SLS AMG GT is sold as a coupe and roadster, but the Black Series model comes as a coupe only.
Standard equipment includes AMG ride control sport suspension, limited slip differential, compound front brake rotors, Comand APS with navigation and DVD changer, satellite radio, media interface, parktronic, keyless-go, power folding mirrors, bi-Xenon headlights with washers, airscarf (roadster only), automatic climate control, passive blind spot assist, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, backup camera, LED daytime running lights, and eight airbags.
The Black Series coupe also gets high-performance ceramic brakes, titanium sports exhaust system, aerodynamics package, and unique wheels. This special edition also makes extensive use of carbon fibre, for the hood, front apron, side mirrors, torque tube, and interior trim.
