It’s a year of minor changes for Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level convertible model, the SLK-Class. It carries on in three trim levels: SLK 250 versions use a 1.8L turbocharged four-cylinder making 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque, which can be mated to six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmissions. The SLK 350 gets a 3.5L V6 making 302 hp and 273 lb-ft, while the SLK 55 AMG uses a 5.5L V8 capable of 415 hp and 398 lb-ft; both of these models share a seven-speed automatic.

Standard kit in SLK 250 trim includes Artico upholstery, halogen projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, power-folding side mirrors, sound system with Bluetooth and MP3 integration, auto-dimming function for the rear view and driver’s side mirrors, ambient lighting, attention assist, sport suspension, alarm system, garage door opener, 17-inch wheels, manual climate control, electric parking brake, and black fixed rollover bars.

SLK 350 models add AMG styling, cross-drilled brake rotors, aluminum sport pedals, bi-xenon headlights, adaptive highbeam assist, dynamic handling package, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats with memory, leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels, and eco start/stop.

SLK 55 AMG trim includes builds on the SLK 350 and adds a sports exhaust with quad chrome oval taillights, AMG-tuned suspension, media interface, Nappa leather upholstery, AMG-styled 18-inch wheels, engine cylinder management, and a trunklid spoiler.
