Rumours have begun circulating about what’s next for the Mazda2, but for now, Mazda’s smallest car moves into 2014 with very minor interior trim changes. Power continues to come from a 1.5L four-cylinder making 100 hp and 98 lb-ft of torque, which can be mated to a standard five-speed manual transmission, or an optional four-speed automatic. Like last year, GX and GS trim levels are available.

Features on the GX include 15-inch steel wheels, tilt steering wheel, power door locks, power windows with driver’s auto up/down, power mirrors, covered vanity mirrors, manual driver’s seat height adjustment, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, illuminated entry, 12-volt power outlet, floor mats, black door handles and mirrors, intermittent rear wiper, brake override system, and CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and two speakers.

Convenience Package for GX includes air conditioning, body coloured door mirrors and door handles, heated door mirrors, 4 speakers, remote keyless entry with jack knife (1 transmitter), steering wheel mounted cruise controls, exterior temperature gauge, trip computer, steering wheel mounted audio controls, silver finish on inner door handles, steering wheel and shift-plate bezel.

The GS adds (to GX) air conditioning, automatic headlamps, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, trip computer, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, cloth door trim, sport-style cloth seats with red piping, body-colour door handles and mirrors, chrome tailpipe finisher, side sill extensions, body-colour rear spoiler, exterior temperature gauge, fog lights, silver finish interior accents, and six speakers.
