NEW FOR 2015:

-No changes

With an all-new Optima waiting in the wings, Kia’s family sedan moves into 2015 with no changes.

As before, it’s available in LX, EX and SX trims, and with gasoline and hybrid powertrains; all trims are offered with a 2.4L four-cylinder engine making 192 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, save for the top-end SX Turbo, which uses a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder good for 274 hp and 269 lb-ft. Hybrid models mate a 2.4L engine with an electric motor rated at a combined 199 hp, and an estimated combined torque figure of 195 lb-ft.

The only transmission offered is a six-speed automatic that adds steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters in the SX Turbo.

Features standard across all trims includes 16-inch alloy wheels, electric power steering, keyless entry, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, trip computer, sunglass holder, heated front seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar, cloth upholstery, split-folding rear seat, power-adjustable windows, door locks, and heated side mirrors, air conditioning, cooling glove box, six-speaker stereo with auxiliary and USB inputs, Bluetooth, automatic headlights, fog lights, side mirror-mounted turn signal repeaters, windshield wiper de-icer, body-colour outside door handles, dual exhaust tips, and chrome door moulding.

An LX Sunroof package adds a sunroof and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

EX trim builds on LX and adds 17-inch wheels, intelligent keyless entry with pushbutton ignition, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, leatherette dash, door and console-lid trim, satin chrome inside door handles, black high-gloss centre fascia panel, leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, UVO infotainment system, backup camera, rain-sensing wipers, half-chrome outside door handles, power-folding side mirrors, and LED daytime running lights.

An LX Hybrid model comes equipped similarly to the non-hybrid EX.

A sunroof is also option on EX models.

EX Luxury trim brings a heated steering wheel, upgraded gauge cluster, mood lighting, cup holder illumination, blind spot detection, rear parking sensors, cooled front seats, driver’s seat memory, heated rear seats, power-adjustable front passenger seat, HID headlights, and LED taillights.

EX Hybrid trim is similar, but loses the cooled front seats and leather upholstery.

An EX Luxury w/ Navigation package adds navi and an upgraded stereo.

Finally, EX Hybrid Premium is where you combine leather with the dual-power drivetrain, plus most of the other amenities found in the EX Luxury w/Navigation model.

SX trim starts out with 18-inch alloy wheels, larger front brakes, sport-tuned suspension, unique grille treatment and bumpers, LED fog lights, sport seats, and alloy pedals.

Finally, the SX Turbo gets the more powerful motor, panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, D-shaped steering wheel, and driver-selectable drive modes.
