The Elantra Sedan undergoes a refresh after two years on the market. The changes are many and include new front and rear fascias, upgraded interior technology and design, as well as a new 2.0L engine available on the Elantra Limited. Other changes include improvements to noise, vibration, and harshness to give the Elantra a quieter ride.
Two engines — a 1.8L four-cylinder with 145 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque and a 2.0L four-cylinder with 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque — are available on the Elantra depending on trim level. Trims include L, GL, GLS (powered by the 1.8L engine), Limited, and Limited with Technology Package (getting the new 2.0L four-cylinder). All trims, except the two Limited trims, are available with a six-speed manual transmission with a six-speed automatic as an option. The Limited trims only get the six-speed automatic.
L trim features include 1.8L four-cylinder engine, 15-inch steel wheels, six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, airbags (front, front seat, side curtain), 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio, electronic brake force distribution, power locks, height-adjustable driver’s seat, selectable steering, dual heated power mirrors, hill-start assist control, iPod/USB/auxiliary input, power windows with driver’s auto-down, rear seat centre armrest, trip computer, vehicle stability management, and electronic stability control with traction control system.
GL adds 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, Bluetooth hands free phone system, heated front seats, keyless entry system with alarm, air conditioning, satellite radio, steering wheel mounted audio and cruise controls, and telescopic steering wheel.
GLS adds 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth door inserts, fog lights, heated rear seats, 4.3-inch touch-screen with rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, and power tilt and slide sunroof.
Limited adds 2.0L four-cylinder engine, 17-inch alloy wheels, 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC, 8-way power driver’s seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, chrome beltline molding, chrome exterior door handles, chrome interior door handles, dark chrome lower front grille, deluxe door sill plates, deluxe sliding front centre armrest, dual-zone automatic temperature control, hood insulator, leather seating surfaces, simulated leather door inserts, mirror-mounted turn signal indicators, power windows with driver’s auto up/down and pinch protection, solar glass, projection headlights with LED accents, and LED taillights.
Limited with Technology Package adds 7-inch touch-screen navigation system with rearview camera, external amplifier, and proximity key with push button start.
