NEW FOR 2015:

– New Special Edition trim level replaces EX and EX-L trims

For its final model year, the Honda Pilot carries over unchanged other than the addition of a Special Edition model. It slots between the LX 4WD and EX-L RES 4WD models.

The Pilot uses a 3.5-litre V6 engine that uses Variable Cylinder management (VCM) to run in six-, three- or four-cylinder mode, depending on power requirements, for increased fuel efficiency. All trim lines use a five-speed automatic transmission. The base LX model is available in front-wheel drive; it can be optioned to the four-wheel drive system used on all other models. The 4WD system runs primarily in front-wheel but delivers power to the rear wheels upon acceleration, when it detects wheel slip, or when it is manually put into “lock” mode by the driver at speeds below 30 km/h.

Features on the LX models include 18-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone climate control, automatic headlamps, 60/40 split-folding second- and third-row seats, heated mirrors, cruise control, power windows, rear cargo net, keyless entry, CD/MP3 stereo with 2 GB on-board storage, 6 speakers and subwoofer, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, tinted glass, roof rails, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, integrated trailer hitch, 8-inch i-MID display, USB input, rearview camera, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The SE adds a 10-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, heated front seats, a 115-volt power outlet, a rear-seat entertainment system, power sunroof, unique 18-inch wheels, chrome exhaust finishers, fog lights, and a security system.

The EX-L RES adds leather seating surfaces, four-way power front passenger seat, power tailgate, and a rear-seat DVD-based entertainment system

The Touring adds navigation, multi-angle rear-view camera, premium audio system with 650 watts, 10 speakers and 5.1 surround sound theatre mode, 9-inch rear-screen entertainment system, heated second-row seat, power memory seats, front and rear parking sensors, and side mirrors with turn signal indicators
