– Standard navigation system, front park control, and twin-needle stitched and tailored dash top standard on XJ8
– Bluetooth connectivity allows up to five approved phones to be paired with in-car system

For 2009, the Jaguar XJ series receives new standard features, including a premium stereo on all models, and navigation, front park control and a stitched dash cover on the XJ8.

The XJ is available with two engines and two wheelbase lengths. A naturally-aspirated 4.2-litre V8 is used in the XJ8 and long-wheelbase Vanden Plas, while a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 is used in the XJR and long-wheelbase Super V8. All use a six-speed automatic transmission.

Features on the XJ8 include 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Alpine Premium Surround Sound, touch-screen navigation system, front and rear park control, adaptive suspension damping, electronic parking brake, tire pressure monitoring system, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, acoustic laminated glass, Burl Walnut or Elm wood interior trim, 16-way heated soft-grain leather seats with piping, heated rear seats, twin-needle-stitched dash trim, driver’s side memory, power-adjustable pedals, power sunroof, wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and xenon headlamps with washers.

The Vanden Plas adds climate-controlled front seats, deep-pile lambs-wool footwell rugs, rear fold-down picnic trays, and power-folding mirrors.

The XJR builds on the XJ8 and adds 20-inch alloy wheels, performance adaptive damping, performance brakes, radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control, climate-controlled front seats, R Performance leather steering wheel, Burl Walnut or Satin American Walnut wood interior trim, electric rear sunshade, and power-folding mirrors.

The Super V8 builds on the Vanden Plas and adds 20-inch alloy wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, touring-tuned adaptive damping, performance brake system, radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control, voice-activated controls, rear-seat DVD system with twin display screens, heated wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel, and electrically-adjustable rear bench seat with rear control for the front passenger seat.

The XJ line covers a wide range, from regular sedan to sports tourer to long-wheelbase luxury limousine. Enhanced features provide even more for driver and passengers, but with prices that remain unchanged from the 2008 levels.
