For 2008, the Audi A5 and S5 are all-new models in the company’s line-up. The S5 was introduced in late 2007, while the A5 followed in early 2008. Both are two-door coupes.
The A5 is powered by a 3.2-litre V6 that makes 265 horsepower, mated to a standard close-ratio six-speed manual transmission; the S5 uses a 4.2-litre V8 producing 354 horsepower, also with six-speed manual. An automatic with Tiptronic manual mode is also available. Quattro all-wheel drive powers all four wheels with a normal 40/60 front/rear bias that seamlessly switches power should more traction be required.
Features include 19-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, bi-Xenon self-levelling headlamps, sport-tuned suspension, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, intelligent key system, LED running lights, power sunroof, power trunk, heated leather sport seats with memory, three-spoke leather-wrapped multifunction wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, and driver information centre.
Available options include premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, navigation system and Audi Music Interface.
