While the silhouette matches the concept, will Subaru pull another bait-and-switch on its way to production?

Subaru has in recent years built devastatingly beautiful concept cars, truly attracting the automotive imaginations of every inner 12-year old. Yet, as they bring their concept vehicles to production, things seem to take a different, much more conservative turn.

Revealed at the 2013 LA Auto Show next to the new production Subaru WRX, the Legacy Concept was certainly a piece of work that set our hearts aflutter. Now, three months later, the production version is set to be shown to the public at the Chicago Auto Show.

Subaru promises the new Legacy, due to go on sale as a 2015 model, will offer a “sleeker, more coupe-like profile” to create a sedan that’s more sporty and modern. We just hope the production version looks as close to the concept as possible and preferably not like another WRX bait-and-switch.

Full (brief) press release after the jump.
