Stuttgart, Germany – Porsche has announced an all-new Boxster, which will go sale in Canada this summer, featuring a completely new lightweight body and revamped chassis.

The new Boxster models will have superior performance but be up to 15 per cent more fuel efficient than their predecessors.

Styling changes include shorter overhangs, a longer and more raked windshield, sleeker silhouette, and a redesigned power-folding soft top with no tonneau cover.

Both the Boxster and Boxster S use flat-six engines with direct fuel injection. The base model’s 2.7-litre delivers 265 horsepower, ten more than its larger-displacement predecessor, while the Boxster S 3.4-litre engine produces 315 horsepower, five more than before. Both will use a six-speed manual gearbox or optional seven-speed PDK automatic transmission.

The Boxster will start at $56,500, while the Boxster S will start at $69,500.
