When Chrysler first announced the Hellcat for 2015 with 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, everyone went crazy. Then Chrysler announced it would be in the Charger AND the Challenger and folks were ecstatic.  But when it was announced that the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat engine would find its way into the 2017 Grand Cherokee as the “Trackhawk”, a few people started to look a little nervous. Well, if that made you nervous, it looks like we’re about to hit “Peak Hellcat”.

On Tuesday night, Fiat-Chrysler global design chief Ralph Gilles took to Instagram, posting a snap of his table cloth with a sketch of how he envisioned a Pacifica Hellcat. 

That’s right, a very fast version of the successor to the sedate Town & Country. With a GLA45 AMG inspired wing and what appear to be 30-inch wheels front and 35-inch wheels rear, it’s not likely any production model would resemble this, but it does show that it’s something Gilles has thought about. Or maybe it shows that he had a few too many glasses of wine with dinner? Compensation for the hybrid minivan? Embracing sub dollar-per-litre gas with sub 5-second 0-100 km/h times? Forget the HondaVAC built in vacuum, open the hatch and mat the loud pedal. Milk, cheerios, and dirty diapers will be sitting in the road behind you along with any cries of “are we there yet?”  Front drive? Rear Drive? Who cares?

Look for the Pacifica Hellcat to hit dealerships sometime after Hell(cat) freezes over.
