If you are one of the few people who’s purchased a 2013 Mistubishi I-MiEV, range anxiety may just be the start of your worries. Transport Canada has announced a recall for the Japanese all-electric vehicle, pointing the finger at a steering shaft lower bracket.

“On certain vehicles, the steering shaft lower bracket may have been welded incorrectly during the manufacturing process. As a result, the steering shaft may not perform as intended during a crash, which could increase the risk of personal injury to the driver.”

Dealers will completely replace the steering shaft assembly on affected vehicles, though we doubt there will be much work to be done. Total number of vehicles recalled: six.
