Top trim XE sedan could produce between 340 and 380 hp

Jaguar is set to being their new XE sedan to market to do battle with the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class, and Audi A4. However, up until now, the only powerplants rumoured were of the four-cylinder variety, possible uncompetitive considering the competition.

Thanks to a mistake on Jaguar’s global site (seen in the header graphic), it appears the four-cylinder only plan is no longer the case. The new XE is set to get the same supercharged 3.0-litre V6 as the Jaguar F-Type, good for between 340 and 380 hp.

The XE is expected to go on sale sometime in 2015 after a reveal later this year.
