GM’s Professional Grade brand could also see model above Yukon Denali

GMC is a licence to print money for General Motors, but it also has a fairly small lineup of trucks and SUVs to leverage. If newly appointed Buick-GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred has his way, the GMC brand will grow.

Speaking with Edmunds, Aldred said his ambitions for the GMC brand are high and he envisions new models being added, including an “active all-road, Wrangler-esque type of vehicle.”

Aldred also hinted that, if you segment the vehicles a bit more, there’s room for a new flagship SUV above the current Yukon Denali that debuted for the 2015 model year and a subcompact crossover the size of the Buick Encore.

These products would be very welcomed by dealers and buyers alike as the brand only offers two pickups (Canyon and Sierra) and two crossovers (Terrain and Acadia) in addition to the new Yukon full-size SUV in two wheelbase lengths. On the commercial side, GMC still markets their own version of the Chevrolet Express van called the GMC Savana.
