Interesting.

My Dad bought a 2-ton motomaster jack 20 years ago when I was just a kid and it's still going strong.  I routinely borrow his jack (and the stands) when I need to work on my truck's suspension (stupid IFS!)  Easily one of the more reliable pieces of kit in the garage!

I use the princess auto version of this jack.  I've got 2 of them.  They go on sale for $99.

They break often but with a lifetime warranty I don't care I just bring them back and get a new one.

Thats a sexy piece of kit....I like it. My buddy should get one for his FR-S....we have to jack it up with the OEM jack and then continue with the floor one.
Lighten up Francis.....

Usually the pin that holds the two pieces of the handle together.  I've had 4 of them.  Every single one has broken.  Currently I just found a bolt lieing around to ifx the 2 that I have as I got fed up returning them.  The other one just has no pin so the handle falls apart if you pull on it.

I have red 2-ton one from 18 years ago.  It's still going although the plastic carry handle broke.

My recent Princess Auto 3 ton has a long machine screw that hold the two piece handles together.  I guess they learned from you.  ;D

i have 1.5 ton version (similar size, but front wheel is between the frame) which has 1 handle, not two like the one reviewed.

i like it.   but i wish i had gone with 2 ton or more.  it gets a little difficult when i'm lifting 1 side of the car.

I have a Princess Auto 2.5 ton steel/aluminum jack similar to this which has been pretty good. I also like the lifetime warranty. Princess Auto's HQ is in Winnipeg and is owned by a Winnipeg family. I've pitched them a couple times over the years for the agency account (never won it). But I did get a few tours including the plant where they assemble their own air compressors and hydraulic...thingys. We talked quite a bit about the warranty and they were steadfast about replacing defective/broken products for life. They seem to treat their employees well too.

I lift my LX570 with the 1.5ton not sure why I'd ever need 3 tons.
