Styling is suggestive but I'm not digging it, too little green house, too much doorheight, front's too long in the nose, too many waves , wavy  way too much black wheel trim.
I'm sure others like it though..

Sorry, but that post drove me a little crazy.  :P

i think you mean,  'too crazy'.   :rofl2:

this car looks good.   might go see how the size is compared to Golf.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

It may look good but it is not functional. The high beltline and wavy design limits outward visibility and in the cargo area, storage space utilisation. I don't know about you, but I prefer being able to easily see outside the car.

Isn't this a bit overpriced for less than 150hp and based off the Mazda 2 platform?
Honestly, I'm tending to agree.  The base starting price is too much.  The top end is too much.  The middle GS trim is 'ok'.

Jacob, again with the 50 shades reference?!?!  ;)

and yes, we absolutely will have a head-to-head shootout of those two during our long-term test.
:hello: *infiniti +1!

Mazda of Toronto (Yonge St, south of Steeles Ave) has the CX-3 now in 'some' stock.  FMIL is currently taking it out for a test drive.  She is driving a 2013 CX-5 and hates it (but loved the 2014 Mazda3 GS hatchback that she gave to her son).  So far all I've heard is that she LOVES the look of it, but I told her to take her golf clubs and see if they fit in the trunk with the seats up.  They do fit in the Mazda3 hatch.

Also, she drives around her parents (90 and 92 years old), so the backseat space and, more importantly, ingress/egress, will be determinative.

Am I to understand that there is no closed centre console?  I'd hate that and it'd be an immediate stop for me.  I hate clutter and want it all hidden.

I think it's priced right and I can see why many people will choose a CUV over a hatchback...if you compare the price of the CX3 with a Golf, you will notice that the Golf is actually more expensive and it doesn't offer AWD!

question is, if you think this is overpriced, do you also think all other cars are overpriced?

The people who tend to complain about price typically think everything is overpriced.

Subaru has dropped prices since then though mainly due to the strong CDN dollar.

Correct.  :)

...but I still buy stuff.  Lots of stuff.  Like the 55" Samsung I picked up yesterday.  Along with the $200 coffee table/end table set.  Along with the $1,749 mattress (and extra for bedding, etc).  Point is, I'll complain, but that's the extent to which my objection goes.  Is it really so bad to want things to be cheaper?  ;)

***Breaking News***
Confirmed - Mazda will sell a boatload of these.  Show n' Shine coming up July 1, 2015 after FMIL receives hers.  2015 Mazda CX-3 GT with Technology Package in Ceramic Metalica.  Leased, with the monthly cost being $14 cheaper than the loaded 2013 CX-5 it's replacing.

No armrest.  I'm more irritated with that, but she apparently saw it, drove it, loved it, and leased it.  Preferred it to the numerous Mazda 3s she's replaced and the CX-5.  I suspect the CX-5's sales are going to suffer a bit.

Congrats! So these are available at dealers right now, but they aren't listed on mazda.ca just yet.  ???

Mazda dealer in Newmarket has a few on the lot and in the showroom.  Sat in a GS FWD.   Very impressive interior--especially for the space in the market it occupies.   Nice touches and kinda reminds me of the A3's interior.    Sadly, no centre armrest in the front or back seat...

For the price, great looking and agreed that Mazda is going to sell a boatload.
Internal combustion thrust I trust

I thought that was weird, too.  I was driving home from the arbitration at FSCO Yonge and Sheppard, and as I drove past Mazda of Toronto (just south of Steeles), one was sitting outside, on the corner, covered in stickers "CX-3 HAS ARRIVED, AWD, SKYACTIV!"  I promptly called FMIL to tell her that Rana, the manager there, had one on the lot.  She drove down about 20 minutes later and about an hour after that, had signed the lease.

I was really surprised to check today and see pricing, but it's not on Mazda's website.  Weird.

The dealership knew nothing of that "dealer-installed" arm rest, either, by the way, JY.

Anyone happen to know what minimum trim level comes with automatic climate control?

Honda HR-V comes with single zone auto climate standard with dual zone auto climate in the EX.

That really is a great looking vehicle, Mazda really nailed it on the styling. It really looks premium.

it is odd that it hasn't been loaded onto the website yet...not only that, but i noticed the newest vehicles (CX-3, MX-5) have pictures in their preview boards, but they are all right hand drive versions...come on, you couldn't get pictures of a "normal" one?

The CX-3 in AWD form barely weighs 3000lbs so I think the 150hp will feel just fine to most anyone shopping this segment.  Funny how 3000lbs is "light" now.  A friend of mine has a 1982 318i - one of the first E30 cars sold in Canada, and he still has it - original owner!  It weighs 2400lbs and he was sad that it was heavier than the 320i he traded in.

Considering Mazda is a Japanese company, right hand drive would be normal.  At the Edmonton motor show, they brought a CX-3, but it was right hand drive.  The confusion on peoples faces was hilarious.
