Can't wait for the Si and Type R!
I love it when a plan comes together.

Very nice!

I would also echo Hannibal's comment on the Si & R.

I wonder if the Si will be a detuned 2.0L turbo (i.e. same engine of the R, with less output)?

What problems does Honda have with the turbos?

None.  He's likely talking about the piston ring recall.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Nothing.  He is referring to the naturally aspirated 2.0L potentially having missing or incorrectly installed snap rings for the piston wrist pins.

I was gonna say the same about it's 175hp output, but surely folks will boost it to 250+ ,just give it time :D

It actually makes 177hp at the wheels and 190ft/lbs.  So they could have easily rated it at 200hp.  It makes sense since C&D tested one at 6.8s 0-60 and 94mph trap.  That's the faster than Lexus IS200t.

edit: if you watch the vid In the link it shows the civic 1.5t beating previous gen Si in a drag race.

Hopefully they will offer it in lower trim levels too.  Right now you can't get the 1.5 turbo for less the $25k.

Hopefully the "focus group" that pushed the manual option will prove representative of the market  :hide:

One of my coworkers has a 4 dr Accord with a manual.  Not sure the year but it's a current model.

We also have a manual Fusion, Elantra, Legacy turbo wagon, TLC, Mazda5 and assorted older compacts.

You just have to know the right people.

But what is the manual Accord % of new ones sold in Canada? I don't see many manual tranny cars driven as daily drivers around here. Muscle cars- yes, VWs is also a fairly common occurrence. I guess the heavier is the traffic where ppl drive - the less likely they are to drive a stick.

I know a lot of manual drivers here in the Vancouver area and our traffic sucks.

The % for Accords is likely low but mid sized cars with stick shifts were never big sellers.  The Fit sure but not the Accord.  The Civic used to be mostly manuals but in recent years it's become more of sensible transportation car then a car guys choice.

I'm hoping the new generation will turn things around.
