Update (March 26, 2015) – Kia has released a single photo of the new Optima. No further details, however, before its reveal at the New York Auto Show.

Original article follows:

When the Kia Optima debuted in 2010, it was generally very well-received. Chock full of luxury features, good looks, decent driving dynamics for its market segment and an affordable MSRP to boot, sales started off strong and have remained so, firmly placing the the Optima as Kia’s top-selling vehicle in North America for the past few years.

Kia Motors have just announced they’ll be debuting the all-new Optima at the New York Auto Show on April 1st. The teaser rendering sketch shows Kia’s signature grille in the front, matching up to the slim headlight housings that will more than likely be home to a pair of LED projectors. The triple-cluster fog lamps look particularly interesting as does the aggressive front fascia. Massive wheels fill out the wider wheel arches nicely and the entire package oozes a sleek and refined look.

No word on engine specifications yet but it’s safe to say there will be a turbocharged option and a hybrid option involved. Look to the Sonata lineup for likely suspects.

We’re adding the all-new Optima to our list of must-sees at the New York Auto Show in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
