Volkswagen have just released two sketches as a preview to a brand new four-door coupe concept they’re bringing to the Geneva Motor Show. Details are scarce but it wouldn’t be a stretch for this to be the concept for the next generation CC. While we don’t even have a name for this concept, we can see the wide grille seamlessly mated to the LED headlights. The grille lines overlap the the tallish C-shaped LED running lights resulting in a slick-looking upscale front end.
The hatch-like rear end is accentuated by a severely raked D-pillar and a small trunklid spoiler with the obligatory integrated LED tail lamps. The teased concept also shows some beefy wheel arches, front and rear, that makes the low-slung coupe look like it’s ready to pounce.
Volkswagen have remained mum about the interior so far but expect it be ultra-modern while retaining a simple elegance. As for what’s powering the concept, VW says it will powered by a 4-cylinder hybrid drivetrain mated with two electric motors to spin all four wheels. This would most likely be an evolution of the gasoline-electric hybrid first seen on the Cross Coupe GTE concept in Detroit. That powerplant is said to be good for 355 hp and 280 lb-ft going to all four wheels via a six-speed DSG.
We’ll keep you updated as more details are released but we’re certainly liking it so far.
