Volkswagen will kick off a goodwill program for TDI owners affected by the company’s diesel engine emissions scandal, according to a report by our friends at The Truth About Cars (TTAC).

If TTAC’s tipster is on the money, then money is exactly what those folks will get, in the form of prepaid credit cards, one of which will be valid anywhere, and the other for use at Volkswagen dealerships; the total amount is expected to be at least USD$1,000.

VW of of America has set up a website TDI owners can use (after November 9) to see if they qualify for the program; we’ve reached out to Volkswagen Canada to see whether Canadian TDI owners are being offered something similar.
