Volkswagen provides cars and entertainment for Sundance Film Festival

Park City, Utah – As the official automotive sponsor of the 2005 Sundance Film
Festival (January 20-30) and one of three presenting sponsors, Volkswagen is
providing vehicles for filmmakers, talent, jury, and VIPs as well as sponsoring
various entertainment venues throughout the festival.

A number of celebrities will be driving their own Volkswagens, including Steve
Buscemi (of “The Sopranos” fame) and David Schwimmer of “Friends”.

“We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Sundance Film Festival for the third
consecutive year,” said Heidi Korte, Promotions Leader at Volkswagen of America,
Inc. “VW has always celebrated the spirit of the individual and we have a history
of supporting emerging filmmakers, artists and musicians. The Festival is a
fantastic opportunity to recognize the best in independent film.”

Volkswagen will host the 2005 Sundance Volkswagen Main Street Lounge, a contemporary
two-story lounge and event space designed by Todd Oldham.
During the day, the Volkswagen Main Street Lounge will be the hot spot destination
for Festival attendees to refresh, rejuvenate and recharge. Here, all festival-goers
can stop in to meet, check email at a laptop station, charge their cell phones,
enjoy some s’mores or just chill out and rehydrate with Jones Soda and Aquafina
(essential at altitude) as they move from screening to soiree.

Backstage Creations, who have created celebrity hospitality experiences for
Hollywood’s biggest events, has created a sumptuous upstairs gifting experience for
A-list talent with a bevy of high-end items such as Fendi eyewear, Erno Laszlo
skincare products, Comptoir sud Pacifique fragrances, Siemens phones, Red Wing
Boots, Overland Sheepskin Gloves and Hats and more.

Festival Founder Robert Redford will kick off the celebrity signing of the
commemorative 2005 Sundance new Jetta. The all-new Jetta, on display throughout the
Festival at Main Street and Heber, is slated to be signed by 2005 Festival
filmmakers and talent. The signed hood will then be auctioned at the end of the
festival. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Sundance Institute.
