Winner of Byron Dragways World Power Wheelstand Competition shows how it’s done

Today is Wheelie Wednesday. Why? Because I just found this video and because Wheelie Wednesday sounds awesome.

We often see drag racers popping wheelies thanks to massive amounts of power resulting in unintended consequences. But, this particular race is all about getting the front wheels in the air for the full quarter-mile run.

A.J. Fiorelli, owner of the 524 ci powered ‘Cuba in the video above, shows us how to rip down the dragstrip on two wheels quicker than most cars can do it on all four at 11.86 seconds.

The second place runner (below), Brian Ambrosini and his AMC Gremlin, kept the muscle hatch up for 570 ft before touchdown.
