Saskatchewan television landmark engulfed by fire

A building that played as a stage for Canadian sitcom Corner Gas has been destroyed by fire.

The single-story commercial building was used by an orthotic and prosthetic manufacturing company and sits on Main Street in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, the town known fictitiously as Dog River in the Corner Gas series.

Mayor of Rouleau, Grant Clarke, stated the town is planning to help rebuild the property through fundraising. Fire chief Ed Gilchrist estimated the damages are around $100,000.

While the walls remain upright, the roof of “Foo Mart”, as it was referenced in the television show, completely collapsed despite the best efforts of firefighters.
