Z enthusiasts get first look at newest high-performance offering

Last week, at the annual ZDAYZ event (held this year in North Carolina), Nissan trotted out a special treat for attendees.

Making its global debut was the 2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO, complete with all the go-fast goodies of previous NISMO Z cars, but with some slight improvements.

The high-performance Z receives an exterior refresh, new wheels, and a refreshed interior. For the first time, a seven-speed automatic transmission will also be available alongside the six-speed manual with SyncroRev Match. To top it off, Nissan will offer a new NISMO Tech package as an option which adds a hard drive-based navigation system with 7-inch display, RearView Monitor, Bose Audio System, satellite radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, and auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Everything under the hood remains the same, however, as the 3.7-litre V6 engine continues to crank out a fairly potent 350 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque.

Availability and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
