Nissan has released pricing for refreshed Sentra. We’ve brought you the updates for 2016 already, but they include refreshed styling inside and out, a new infotainment system (with support for Siri eyes-free), and an array of new safety features included in the available new Nissan Safety Shield. This gives you emergency braking, intelligent cruise control as well as blind spot and cross traffic alerts.

The updated Sentra will start at $15,898 for the S 6MT (an increase of $300 over the outgoing model), undercutting its main rivals the Corolla, Civic and Mazda 3 by about $100 and significantly less than the US model’s $16,780 USD price. Adding the Xtronic CVT will raise the price to $18,998.

The SV trim is also available with both the six-speed ($18,698) and Xtronic ($19,998). The five-inch touch screen infotainment system and Nissan’s safety shield can be added with the SV’s Luxury Package.

Safety Shield and the infotainment system are are also optional on the Xtronic only SR ($22,548) and comes standard on the SL trim.  Also standard on SR and SL are LED low-beam headlights and exterior accent lighting.

The top trim SL model comes in at $25,998, and all 2016 Sentra models are on sale now.

Mississauga, Ont. – Nissan today announced pricing for the new 2016 Sentra compact sedan, now available at Nissan dealers across Canada. The starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price* (MSRP) for the Sentra S with 6-speed manual transmission is $15,898, an increase of just $300 despite significant enhancements to the Sentra lineup for the new model year.

In addition we’ve added class-leading safety and technology features. Sentra’s combination of style, safety, technology and quality make it an excellent choice in the compact segment.”

The exterior redesign brings Sentra closer to the all-new 2016 Maxima and new 2016 Altima. All three Nissan sedans reflect Nissan’s new design language first introduced on the dramatic Nissan Murano crossover. Key features of the new Sentra exterior include new front and rear fascias, grille, fenders, hood and signature boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights and a new available 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheel design. Sentra SR and SL grades add new LED low-beam headlights with LED signature accents.

Inside, the revised Sentra interior features a new steering wheel, new available power driver’s seat with power lumbar, new center cluster and audio display design, new console and shifter knob and refined seat fabrics. The instrument panel features an Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display (ADAD) with 5.0-inch screen located between the tachometer and speedometer on Sentra SV, SR and SL grades. These grades also include Siri Eyes Free™ Voice Recognition as standard equipment.

A number of Nissan’s advanced Safety Shield Technologies are also now available on Sentra for the first time – Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Another new available technology is NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®. It offers emergency preparedness, remote access, customizable alerts and convenience services (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately). The system allows the driver to set customized alerts for family and friends – such as speed, curfew and boundary notifications.

NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) are combined as part of the new Technology Package offered on Sentra SL grade. Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) are included in the Luxury Package (SV) and Premium Package (SR) and standard on Sentra SL.

The 2016 Sentra also delivers enhanced performance and handling through a retuned suspension design featuring a 10 per cent increase in spring and damper rates, as well as enhanced body stiffness for improved roll and body control. Drivability is enhanced through use of the third-generation D-Step logic for Xtronic transmission-equipped models. The D-Step Logic Control helps provide a more stable, natural and crisper shift feel (versus the previous execution).

Steering feel and response have also been improved through use of optimized Electric Power Steering (EPS) mapping in conjunction with the revised suspension and new tire design.

Also new for 2016 is one exterior colour – Deep Blue Pearl, one of seven available 2016 Sentra colors.

All Sentra models utilize a fuel-efficient 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine mated to an advanced Xtronic transmission with sub-planetary gear. A 6-speed manual transmission is also available with the Sentra S and SV grades. Fuel economy is rated at 8.0 L/100km city, 6.1 L/100km highway and 7.2 L/100km combined with the Xtronic transmission. The Sentra with 6-speed manual transmission is rated at 8.9 L/100km city, 6.6 L/100km highway and 7.9 L/100km combined.
