New York, New York – Toyota’s single-passenger i-Unit concept car made its North American debut. It features a “personal mobility” design inspired by a leaf and incorporating a balance of freedom of movement with harmony in society.
The concept design provides a seamless transformation between vehicle and passenger, with components made from decomposable and recyclable materials. It operates in upright mode in low speed, enabling the driver to move easily among people; at higher speeds, it reclines to provide a lower centre of gravity for stable handling. Drive-by-wire technology and intuitive handling allow for quick turns.
