Chelsea, Michigan – Dodge unveiled the redesigned 2006 Ram 1500 pickup truck today – the new pickup features new exterior styling, new frame and suspension, new interior and Chrysler’s MDS cylinder de-activation system on the 5.7 litre Hemi V8 engine. The 2006 Ram 1500 goes on sale this Fall.

“Dodge Ram is one of the Top 10 best selling vehicles in Canada,” said Mike Accavitti, Vice-President, Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada. “With its best-in-class Hemi power, a bold new look and continued value pricing, Dodge Ram 1500 is the boldest and most powerful light-duty pickup on the market.”

The 2006 Dodge Ram 1500’s Hemi V8 engine, which offers 345 horsepower and 375 ft-lbs of torque, seamlessly alternates between four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V8 mode when more power is in demand. The 2006 Ram will also be available with a 3.7 litre V6 and 4.7 litre V8.

The new truck will be available in Regular Cab and Quad Cab body styles, in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and with six-foot or eight-foot beds. Available trim levels are ST, Sport, SLT, TRX4 Off-Road and Laramie. A Mega Cab body style will also be available this Fall.
