Toronto, Ontario – A Mercedes-Benz owner in Port Dover, Ontario has passed the one-million-kilometre mark in his 1990 300D. Robert Miles has driven more than 1,110,000 km in the car without any modifications to the engine or transmission.
Miles, a travelling insurance salesman, purchased the car new in the winter of 1989 and has driven an average of 5,200 kilometres per month.
“Mercedes-Benz vehicles are engineered to stand the test of time,” said Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. “Mr. Miles’ personal story highlights what kind of longevity is possible through regularly scheduled maintenance, and also demonstrates the benefits of a strong and trusting relationship between a customer and his or her dealership. I would like to personally thank Mr. Miles on behalf of our entire organization for his loyalty to the brand and to his dealership throughout the years.”
