Hyundai revealed its first design impression in sketch form of the all-new Tucson this morning. This is the first look we’ve had at the new Tucson which is set to be debuted at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

In the video below, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, Peter Schreyer says, “Our new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally. The all-new Tucson has a bold and athletic presence and a proud stance. Its design is characterized by flowing surfaces, bold proportions, sharp lines and – most important – our brand signature hexagonal grille.”

Love it or hate it, the distinct hexagonal grille will undoubtedly be a staple in all of Hyundai’s future design themes.

Looking at the sketch above, it looks like the new Tucson heralds a significant departure from the current generation model. The massive grille up front combined with a sleek headlight profile, a sleek character profile and wide body arches certainly makes the not-so-hot current Tucson seem bland and uninspired in comparison.

Will the Tucson live up to the how awesome the sketch looks? We’ll see in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Stay tuned.
