Hyundai has released renderings of the first model to be sold by its forthcoming Genesis luxury sub-brand.

The G90 will replace the current Equus to become the Genesis brand’s flagship sedan; the sketches revealed today “hint at the recently-launched Genesis brand’s design identity and future direction.” Reading between the lines (and looking at the sketches), it’s no stretch to see the new car’s front-end styling owes a lot to the current Genesis sedan, with a rear aspect more closely matching that of the Vision G concept revealed in August.

Hyundai is set to launch the G90 in Korea next month, and plans to bring the car to Canada next year. This car is the first of six Genesis models planned between now and 2020.
