Toronto, Ontario – Honda has announced pricing for the all-new, completely redesigned 2009 Pilot, which will start at $39,820. The MSRP is unchanged from the 2008 model.

“The timing is right for the new Pilot sport-utility vehicle that provides Canadians with class-leading fuel efficiency for an eight-passenger sport-utility vehicle,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice-president of Honda Canada. “Advanced engine technologies, including Honda’s innovative Variable Cylinder Management, help improve Pilot’s fuel efficiency to give it top-of-class fuel economy leadership.”

The Pilot is available in two- or four-wheel drive, and uses a more powerful 250-horsepower 3.5-litre V6 engine, along with such standard features as hill start assist, 17-inch wheels, a new Advanced Compatibility Enhanced body structure for crash protection, and flip-up tailgate. Four-wheel drive models have a 2,040 kg (4,500-pound) towing capacity and start at $39,820, also unchanged from 2008 for the same trim.

Other models include the EX at $42,220, the EX-L at $44,520, the EX-L RES with rear entertainment system for $46,120, and the Pilot Touring Edition, a new trim level for 2009, which includes heated second-row seats, navigation system and rearview camera for $49,920.

The 2009 Pilot goes on sale June 10.
